Certification is the activity of proving, through a certificate of conformity or a conformity mark, that a product or service meets specific standards or technical requirements.
In 2013, "certification" had gained widespread attention both domestically and internationally. Throughout the entire process of product design, manufacturing, testing, sales, and use, companies increasingly felt the need for third-party assistance to ensure that manufactured products meet recognized quality standards, enabling them to enter domestic and international markets and enhance product credibility.
Internationally, many countries have established certification systems and certification marks.
In 1985, my country established the "China Electrical Products Certification Committee," and in October 1985, approved the establishment of the "China Electrical Products Certification Committee Power Tool Certification Testing Station," and promulgated the "Power Tool Certification Regulations."
All power tools that pass certification are issued a certificate and mark by the China Electrical Products Certification Committee.
To improve the quality of power tools, protect the economic interests of users, ensure personal safety, and enhance the competitiveness of power tools in the international market, the former Ministry of Machine Building Industry, Ministry of Commerce, State Administration for Commodity Inspection, and State Bureau of Materials jointly issued a notice in May 1986, deciding to implement mandatory safety certification for power tools. From July 1, 1988, the first batch of mandatory certification was implemented for 16 types of products, including electric drills, impact drills, electric hammers, electric picks, electric angle grinders, electric hand-held straight grinders, die grinders, electric sanders, electric circular saws, electric shears, electric punches, electric tapping machines, electric planers, electric saws, electric jigsaws, and electric screwdrivers.
Only power tools with a certificate of conformity and a conformity mark are allowed to be produced and sold.
The validity period of power tool certification is 5 years.
